Odisha Health Min Hopes COVID Vaccination to Start from Jan Next, 3.2 lakh Likely to Get Vaccine in First Phase

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Das is hopeful that the COVID-19 vaccination drive will be started from January 2021 in the State.
In the first phase the vaccine will be provided to healthcare workers and COVID warriors free of cost in Odisha, informed the Minister today.

‘The State Government has decided to vaccinate doctors, healthcare workers, elderly persons, COVID warriors including employees of municipalities, Health, Electricity, Water Supplies departments free of cost in the first phase,” the Minister said.

Around 3.2 lakh people whose database has already been created will be vaccinated in the first phase in Odisha after the launch of COVID-19 vaccine in the country.

Das further said that five persons– a vaccinator, a vaccine authority, a verifier, and two supervisors– will be stationed at each vaccination centre.
