Odisha Hikes Minimum Wages of Unskilled, Semi-Skilled, Skilled and Highly Skilled Labourers

Bhubaneswar: In a major decision that will bring relief to lakhs of workers of the state, the Odisha government today hiked the Variable Dearness Allowance for the unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled and highly skilled workers of the state. A Notification in this regard has been issued by the Labour Commissioner. According to the Notification, the Variable Dearness Allowance has been hiked by Rs 7 per day for all categories of employees in all 89 scheduled employments effective from 1st October 2023.

With this, the daily wages of unskilled workers have been revised from Rs 345 to Rs 352, semi-skilled workers from Rs 385 to Rs392, skilled workers from Rs 435 to Rs 442 and highly skilled workers from Rs 495 to Rs 502.
