Odisha: Home Dept urges AG to Sanction 905 Posts for 220 Police Stations

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to strengthen the police forces, the Odisha Home Department has written to the Accountant General to sanction the augmentation strength of additional 905 posts covering SIs, ASIs, and Constables in as many as 220 police stations.

Home Department Special Secretary, Dr. Santosh Bala has written in her letter to the AG informing that the Governor has sanctioned the creation of 905 additional posts in various ranks over and above the sanctioned strength already available in 220 police stations and six Outposts in 21 police districts.

The Home Department’s letter further reads that the base level posts meant for direct recruitment rules and provisions shall be filled up on a contractual basis initially as per the stipulation contained in the erstwhile GA Department.

The prominent posts are to be filled up observing relevant rules and ORV Act, the letter said.
