Odisha Makes Thermal Screening Mandatory for Passengers at Rly Stations, Airports Coming from 12 States
Bhubaneswar: In view of spike in Covid-19 cases in several States, the Odisha Government has made it mandatory for passengers coming from 12 States to undergo thermal screening at railway stations and airports.
The States are Maharashtra, Kerala, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Punjab, Delhi, Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
The Government has asked the district administrations, Municipal Commissioners, Airport Directors and the East Coast Railways to make arrangements for thermal screening of all passengers and on-site Rapid Antigen Test of those symptomatic.
In a letter, Additional Chief Secretary PK Mohapatra has urged the authorities to undertake thermal screening of passengers disembarking at airports and railways stations coming from 12 states.
If any passenger is found having symptoms or fever will be tested by the Rapid Antigen Test on site. If found positive, the concerned passenger will be put in isolation and treated as per the protocol, the letter said.
