Bhubaneswar: Continuing its selfless social service, the BJD’s Odisha-Mo Parivar team has helped to bring back bodies of three Jajpur youths, who died in a fire accident at a plant site in Ahmedabad.
The youths were identified as Dayanidhi Khuntia (35), Chinmaya Khuntia (25) and Kamesh Singh (23). They were from Rekabi Bazar under Jamdhar gram panchayat in Jajpur district.A fire mishap at Lotus Label Cotton Mill, Ahmedabad took the lives of the youths on February 22. The matter came to the knowledge of Odisha-Mo Parivar Convenor Arup Patnaik by Jajpur MLA Pranab Prakash Das.Dr. Gopabandhu Dash, OSD to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik got in touch with the Labour Commissioner of Odisha and instructed to reach out to the Labour Commissioner of Gujarat to expedite the procedure.Dr. Dash also urged the officials to make sure that the Lotus Label Cotton Mill compensates the family of the deceased youth for the loss of lives at the plant site.After intervention of the Labour Commissioners, the autopsy took place in the afternoon of February 23 and subsequently the dead bodies were handed over to the relatives.
Pranab Pakash Das took the initiative of bearing the expense of the ambulance service from Ahmedabad to the native village of the deceased in Jajpur and the mortal remains are expected to reach on February 25.
Meanwhile, the family members of the youths expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister and Odisha-Mo Parivar team for the necessary intervention in bringing back the mortal remains of their sons so that the last rites can be conducted at their village.
The family members also thanked the Jajpur MLA for his support.
