Bhubaneswar: Giving yet another example of its selfless social service, the BJD’s Odisha-Mo Parivar team helped to bring back body of an Odia worker, who passed away in Tamil Nadu, to his native village.
One Devendra Bhukta of Dalbhada village of Odisha’s Subarnapur district died of heart attack in Maliguda in Tamil Nadu on March 7.
The matter was brought to the notice of Odisha-Mo Parivar convener Arup Patnaik by Odisha Transport Minister Padmanava Behera.
The Mo Parivar team communicated the matter to the Odisha Chief Minister’s Office.
Following the instructions by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the Mo Parivar took necessary steps to bring back the mortal remains of the deceased.
The BJD’s social service wing contacted the owner of the Tamil Nadu-based company where the Odia laborer worked.
The company owner extended necessary supports and followed the legal measures to send the body of the deceased to Chennai by ambulance.
With the help of Odisha-Mo Parivar team, the mortal remains of the deceased reached to his native village and received by the family members.
Bolangir Collector Arindam Dakua has also facilitated to send the body to Subarnapur.
The Subarnapur district administration provided financial assistance of Rs 30000 to the bereaved family to perform the last rites of the deceased.
The family members expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Mo Parivar team.
They also thanked Subarnapur Collector Monisha Banerjee.
Meanwhile, the Odisha-Mo Parivar once again received high praises from all quarters for its commitment towards social service.
