Bhubaneswar: Odisha-Mo Parivar has once again extended helping hands to the needy at the time of adversity.
The social service wing of ruling Biju Janata Dal has rescued 16 Odias stranded in Tamil Nadu.
The Odias, who were a picnic to Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu, had faced an uphill task to return to their home state as trains from Chennai were cancelled in the wake of damage done to the railway tracks due to flood.
They called the helpline number of Odisha-Mo Parivar and requested for help.
The plight of the stranded passengers came to the notice of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Following the direction of the Chief Minister, the Odisha-Mo Parivar team swung into action immediately and made all necessary arrangements for the safe return of the stranded passengers.
All 16 people have safely returned to Bhubaneswar and from there to their respective homes. Of them, eight people are from Ganjam district.
They have expressed their deep gratitude to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Odisha-Mo Parivar.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister has praised the selfless service of the Odisha-Mo Parivar.
