Bhubaneswar: Dibya Shankar Mishra after taking the Charge of Energy, Industries and MSM&E Ministry on Wednesday visited Energy Department to take stock of restoration work in the aftermath of cyclone Fani.
An official welcome was rendered to Minister Mishra by Secretary Energy, Sri Hemant Sharma, IAS in presence of key officials of Energy Department and Power Sector PSUs.
Sharma apprised regarding the current status of restoration activities to Minister Energy.
Presently, around 10000 consumers are being restored every day. Minister also took stock of budget requirement for the Fani restoration and asked to put up a budget proposal for the same along with other ongoing schemes in the coming budget session.
He also reviewed the total power availability of the state and gave suggestion for to increase non-conventional sources like solar and Bio Mass in Odisha. He also emphasized on exploring and setting up of mini hydro projects wherever feasible.
He then reviewed regarding elephant corridor issue and suggested for creating safe pathways for elephant movement and dedicated vegetation for the animals in coordination with Forest Department.
He also asked the Energy Department Officials to prepare a blueprint for achieving the targets given in the Government’s Manifesto.
