Odisha: Notifications Issued for By-elections to Tirtol, Balasore Sadar Assembly Seats

Bhubaneswar: The notification for the by-elections to the two Assembly seats in Odisha – Tirtol and Balasore Sadar has been issued today.

As per the notification, the last date for filing nominations is October 16 and date for scrutiny of nomination papers is October 17. The deadline for withdrawing nomination papers is October 19.

Earlier, Chief Electoral Officer of Odisha S K Lohani had announced the imposition of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in Balasore and Jagatsinghpur districts with effect from September 29 wherein Balasore and Tirtol constituencies are located.

The polling will be held on November 3, counting of votes will take place on November 10 and election process has to be completed by November 12, the Election Commission had declared.
