Bhubaneswar: The Budget for the financial year 2020-21 presented by Niranjan Pujari, Finance Minister, Odisha, has a specific thrust on nutrition specific schemes and gives a separate section on Nutrition Budget.
The Nutrition Budget categorizes the various schemes of the state government that are aimed at improving the nutrition level in children.
Odisha has become the first state in India to introduce nutrition budget with ₹5543Cr allocation for nutrition specific schemes & ₹25,571Cr provision for nutrition sensitive schemes.
Nutrition budget helps focus on vulnerable people and improve nutrition outcomes. The Nutrition Budget has 12 nutrition specific schemes and 84 nutrition sensitive schemes.
