Odisha Opens Its Arms for Major BPO Player Concentrix ; Around 50 Per cent Employees to Be Women

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has opened its arms for one of the world’s biggest BPO players Concentrix as Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the company’s Customer Experience Centre in the capital city of Bhubaneswar on Thursday.

The opening of Concentrix Customer Experience Centre is the shining example of success of the ‘Make in Odisha’ conclave, which was held recently to garner huge investments for the State.
The centre will create job opportunities for more than 2,000 people in Odisha. The number of employees will be increased to 5000 soon. Around 50 per cent of the employees will be women, as per an official release.

The recent establishment of IBM, Happiest Minds, Deloitte’s capability enhancement centre and today the Concentrix BPO Centre created a golden era in the State’s Electronics & Information Technology sector.

The Concentrix Customer Experience Centre has been inaugurated in the presence of E&IT Minister Tusharkanti Behera, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian, Principal Secretary of E&IT Department Manoj Kumar Mishra, Principal Secretary of Higher Education Department Bishnupada Sethi, Special Secretary ofE&IT Department Manas Ranjan Panda, Vice Chancellor of Rama Devi Women’s University Aparajita Chowdhury and others.

The establishment of this new centre will further accelerate the State’s economy and create high-paying employment opportunities for the youths. The company, which has been operating continuously throughout the world for 17 years, is the largest professional services company in the world. Moreover, it has been recognized as the strongest and most valuable commercial services brand in the world by Brand Finance. The company’s centres located in various countries including India have been listed as ‘Best Workplaces’.

In addition to establishing a Customer Experience Centre in Bhubaneswar, Concentrix has signed an MoU was signed with Rama Devi Women’s University for women empowerment and employment opportunities. As part of the agreement, a “Concentrix Skill Development Centre” will be set up in the university premises to provide necessary training to the eligible students to enhance their professional skills.

Expressing happiness on the development, the Chief Minister mentioned that the Centre will be of great help in development of IT in Odisha.

The CM expressed hope that the agreement signed between Ramadevi Women’s University & Concentrix will lead the way in women’s employment and empowerment. He also wished speedy progress of the IT company in its expansion and hoped that it would create more employment opportunities.

Concentrix Senior VP Ravinder Singh Rana thanked the State Government for its prompt cooperation and announced that the company would soon increase its workforce in Odisha from 2,000 to 5,000. CM assured that #Odisha Govt will provide all possible support to increase the staff strength.
