Odisha Panchayat Poll Campaigning Guidelines Stress On Digital And Social Media; No Road Shows, Padyatras

Bhubaneswar: Keeping in view the rising number of covid-19 cases in the state, Odisha Special Relief Commissioner has issued Guidelines for Campaigning for the ensuing Panchayat Elections in the state today. The new guidelines call for maximum use of digital and social media for campaigning by the candidates. The new guidelines restrict the number of persons allowed in door to door campaigning at five. The contesting candidates should ensure that covid guidelines are maintained properly during the campaign.

The Panchayat campaigning guidelines prohibit road shows, Padayatras, cycle/bike/vehicle rallies and processions. It also bars victory procession after the results are declared.
