Odisha Police Makes Elaborate Traffic Arrangement for Puri Rath Yatra 2019

Puri:  The Odisha Police has made elaborate arrangements in order to ensure smooth movement of the traffic in and around the pilgrim city Puri during the world famous Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra beginning on July 4.

The police department has shared a video detailing the rout plan imposed for four-wheelers during the annual Rath Yatra.

Besides, the Puri Police has also come up with a mobile app providing detailed  traffic and other useful information regarding the festival.

As per the arrangements, only vehicles issued with government Vehicles Pass are allowed from Maltipatpur towards Batamangala – Atharnala- Grand road.

Bikes are to divert to new bye pass at Batagaon and exit at Mangalaghat for parking at Jaganath Vallabh parking.

Four wheelers from Bhubaneswar are to divert left at Maltipatpur to ROB to exit at Toshali sands Chhak and proceed to different parkings in and around ITI.

After filling up of these parking, the incoming traffic may be diverted to other parkings around the same area too.

Exit route for two wheelers to Bhubaneswar side is via Atharnala- Batamangala- Maltipatpur – Pipli.

Exit route for 4 wheelers to Bhubaneswar side is via Balighat – Samangara- Biraharekr- ishnapur chak too NH-316 and onwards to Maltipatpur-Pipli.

Inter-state tourist buses will be parked at Maltipatpur Bus stand. Shuttle service (mini bus) has been arranged to and from Puri town for passengers of these buses.

Regular passenger buses from BBSR side will be diverted left at Maltipatpur to ROB to exit at Toshali sands Chhak and proceed to different parkings in and around Talabania. Shuttle service (mini bus) has been arranged to and from Puri town for passengers of these buses.

The Odisha Police said the entire police department is committed for a peaceful and well managed Rath Yatra 2019 and requested everyone to cooperate the department.
