Odisha Police Top Brass In LWE Affected Areas To Review Situation

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Director General of Police Abhay along with senior officials of the Police, BSF and CRPF today visited the Hantalguda BSF Camp in the Swabhiman Anchal area of Malkangiri and Trilochanpur CRPF Camp in Kalahandi district. The team consisted of Director Intelligence R K Sharma, IG Operations Amitabh Thakur, DIG SIW Anirudha Kumar Singh, DIG BSF and IGP CRPF.

The senior officials reviewed the prevailing LWE situation in the areas and discussed strategies to further intensify anti-maoist operations. The thrust was on coordination between the various forces engaged in the anti-maoist operations. In the past few days there has been a steady decline in the maoist incidents in the border areas of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Chattisgarh due to heightened surveillance and security activities by the Police SOG, BSF and CRPF forces. The officials also interacted with SOG, DVF, BSF and CRPF jawans engaged in anti-maoist operations and motivated them for their work.

The visiting officials also joined by the SPs of Malkangiri, Kandhamal and Kalahandi and Rayagada districts who had a detailed review on the ongoing strategies and the efforts that are needed to neutralize the Maoists.
