Bhubaneswar: The campaign on ‘Pravesh Utsav’ and ‘Khadi Chhuan’ for the students enrolling in Shishu Vatika will be held on April 2 in all primary schools across the state.
Shalini Pandit, Commissioner-Cum-Secretary, School & Mass Education Department, has handed over the invitation letter of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to parents of the students who will be enrolling in Shishu Vatika.
The state government is setting up “Shishu Vatika” in all primary schools to provide pre-school education for children aged five and above, as envisioned in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The state will be celebrating “Pravesh Utsav” and “Khadi Chhuan” for Class I and Shishu Vatika students in all schools on April 2. The government has decided to make this celebration a joyful occasion in every school, featuring various activities.
The state government is planning to implement NEP 2020 in phases, starting from the academic year 2025-26.
As part of the NEP 2020, Shishu Vatika classes will be introduced in all primary schools for children aged five and above.
Under the Shishu Vatika initiative, classes for children aged 5 to 6 years will begin in every school from April 2, utilising existing infrastructure and manpower.
