Bhubaneswar: Odisha has achieved a 19 per cent growth in revenue collection till May of this fiscal.
The revenue collection till May of 2019-20 increased to Rs 6505 crore from Rs 5466 crore by the end of May 2018. It has been revealed at the high level meeting held at State Secretariat on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi.
The tax and non-tax collections stood at Rs 4257 and Rs 2247 crore respectively during the same period with steel and mines department registering highest royalty of around 51.18 per cent.
The water resources department has registered 16.22 percent collection from the industries.
The budgetary expenditure in the planning sector by the end of May is Rs 8746 crore which is 19 percent less than the previous year, reveals the meeting.
