Bhubaneswar: Further strengthening the ongoing fight against COVID-19 pandemic, the Odisha Government will extend RT-PCR test facilities in all districts of the State by August 15.
This has been informed by Director of Public Health Niranjan Mishra on Wednesday.
Currently, RT-PCR test labs are functional in 14 districts. The rest 16 districts will have such facility before August 15. The districts are Bhadrak, Boudh, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Nuapada, Sonepur, Kandhamal, Sundergarh, Rayagada and Bargarh.
The State Government is also setting up its own genome sequence facility that will quickly detect the virus mutation, he said while adding that it will help in tackling the impending COVID-19 third wave.
