Bhubaneswar: Similipal Tiger Reserve in Mayurbhanj district has reopened for visitors today after it remained closed for six days.
The tourists were restricted from visiting the tiger reserve from October 23 to October 25 due to cyclone Dana. It was supposed to reopen on Saturday. But, the tiger reserve authority extended the closure period by another three days due to heavy rainfall in the area.
Spread over 2,750 sq km of area, the tiger reserve is home to 42 species of mammals, 242 varieties of birds and 30 reptile categories.
