Bhubaneswar: A Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls in Odisha will begin from November 1 and continue November 30, 2021, according to Sushil Lohani Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Odisha.
As per the instruction of the Election Commission of India, January 1, 2022 is the qualifying date for enrolment.
In a press briefing, the CEO said that the pre-revision activity was undertaken and the draft of the electoral roll prepared till October 31 will be published on November 1 at over 37,606 polling booths, 58 sub-Collector and 30 Collector offices.
The copies of electoral roll would be free for the state and national recognized political parties free of cost and others have to pay.
Besides, the electoral roll will be available booth-wise at the CEO website www.ceoodisha.nic.in and the citizens can check his/her name in the electoral roll.
The CEO further said that people can apply for addition and deletion of names, correction and other facilities during the special drive.
All those who attain the age of 18 as on January 1, 2022 can apply for inclusion of their names in the electoral rolls, he said while adding that eligible voters whose name is yet to be registered in electoral roll can apply.
Anyone whose name appears in the electoral roll but they wish to make some correction/alteration with regard to name/address/photo/date of birth/or any other details can also apply.
People who want to delete their names from the electoral roll in the event of death of any relative or shifting permanently from one place to another or an unmarried girl migrating to another place after marriage or for some other reason.
Previously, the voters had to apply offline by visiting the concerned Booth Level Officer (BLO) and collecting necessary forms or at Sub Collector or Collector office, however, this time the ECI has started a drive for applying online.
A mobile app ‘Voter Helpline App’ has been developed for this purpose, he added.
