Bhubaneswar: The State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB) of Odisha bagged the prestigious SKOCH Silver Award 2023 under the category Police & Safety for Special Report Management System under CCTNS on Saturday at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi.
The award is innovative and has been awarded for the first time in India.
Poor conviction is partly owing to improper investigation and partly owing to improper prosecution. To ensure quality of investigation it is essential to properly supervise & monitor the investigation of cases, according to a press release.
With such a view SCRB has developed SR Management System to ensure proper monitoring of all the cases being investigated by the Police Stations.
Online monitoring, instructions to the Investigating Officer (IO) and compliance system has resulted in reducing investigation time, prompt supervision of cases and effective intervention of supervising officers. This is expected to improve the quality of the investigation.
To further improve the investigation, SCRB has prepared CMS (Crime Management System) through which all the case records are made available to all the supervising officers from SDPOs to SP, DIG & higher officers and they can effectively intervene after perusing full case records.
SKOCH Award not only acknowledges exceptional achievers—organizations, and individuals—but also spurs inspirational guidance and motivational leadership.
