Baripada: A Tahasildar and an Amin in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district have come under the scanner of vigilance department for allegedly taking bribe from a person.
Vigilance sleuths have apprehended Satya Sundar Rout, Tahsildar, Raruan, Mayurbhanj along with Kamal Lochan Patra, Amin, Bhanjakia, Raruan while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.15000 from person to issue RoR(patta) of his plot.
The amount was an installment against an overall demand of Rs 40,000, the Vigilance said.
Following trap, searches have been launched on properties of Rout and Patra. In this connection, Balasore Vigilance PS Case no 19/22 U/s 7PC Amend Act, 2018 has been regd. The investigation is in progress, the vigilance stated.
