Bhubaneswar: The Government of Odisha has decided to augment the health work force in the state with engagement of another 7000 trained manpower for the Covid care homes set up in the Gram Panchayats.
According to a notification issued by the Health and Family Welfare Department “In view of the rapid spread of COVID-19 in the country and detection of large number of positive cases in the state, Government have proposed to establish Covid Care Homes/ Covid Gruhas in each Panchayat of the State. For smooth management of these Covid Care Homes, it has become necessary to augment the health work force in the state. Hence, Govt. have been pleased to approve the proposal for temporary engagement of 7000 trained manpower for Covid Care Homes covering 6798 Gram Panchayats of the State.
The base level health activity in these Covid Care Homes will be managed by unemployed trained and registered ANMs. For the purpose, it has been decided to engage atleast one unemployed ANM per each proposed COVID Care Home in each Panchayat. In case, this category of manpower (unemployed ANMs) is not available, unemployed registered Staff Nurses or Pharmacists cam be engaged in place of ANMs in the order of preference.
The engagements will be purely temporary and for three months or till the Covid care homes are functional. The remuneration shall be Rs 850 for ANMs and Rs 1000 in case of Nurses or Pharmacists on daily wage basis.
