Odisha to Implement E-Assembly after Winter Session
Bhubaneswar: Odisha will implement the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) project to enable the Assembly to handle its diverse business smartly and paperless.
All the preparations have been completed for the implementation of E-Assembly, informed Speaker Surjya Narayana Patro.
It has been decided to implement the National e-Vidhan Application project after the Winter Session of the Legislative Assembly, he said.
The Centre has approved the project with fund sharing pattern of 60:40. It has also sanctioned 20% of funding, he added.
The MLAs and Assembly staffs have been provided with computers. The staffs will be imparted training for the proper implementation of the project.
With the implementation of project, the starred and un-starred questions and answers will be available in the NeVA application and the legislators can apply online.
The e-Vidhan is a mission mode project included in Digital India Programme while the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs (MoPA) is the nodal ministry for its implementation in all the states and Union Territories with legislatures.
Earlier, the Speaker said the winter session of the House should be held before December 31.
As per the rule, Assembly should sit for 60 days in a calendar year. However, this time, the Assembly was held for only 20 working days. The remaining 40 working days should be complete before December, he said.
