Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to witness heavy rainfall from July 19 due to the formation of a low-pressure area over the Westcentral and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), “A fresh low-pressure area is likely to form over west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal around July 19, 2024.”
The cyclonic circulation over Gangetic West Bengal & adjoining Jharkhand & Odisha extending upto 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height has become less marked, the IMD stated.
Several parts of Odisha are likely to experience heavy rainfall activities till July 21, 2024, the IMD said while issuing a yellow warning for six districts, such as Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Kandhamal and Kalahandi.
