Bhubaneswar: The transport offices in Odisha will remain open on holidays in order to assist the people to prepare documents required as per the Motor Vehicle Act 2019.
This has been informed by State Commerce and Transport Minister Padmanabha Behera here today.
The decision came a day after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik directed the enforcement agencies not to go on overdrive but counsel and handhold the people to facilitate compliance.
The Chief Minister asked the Transport Department to augment public services, strengthen facilitation centres, open extra counters, conduct camps in public institutions to enable the vehicle users to update their compliance status.
The Transport Minister said that special camps will be arranged at different places to help motorists comply with the amended provisions of the MV Act.
“The State government will provide all kind of support to public to help them arrange their vehicle documents within the relaxation period”, the Minister further added.
