Bhubaneswar: A tripartite MoU has been signed for setting up Metropolitan Surveillance Unit within the capital city of Bhubaneswar.
The MoU has been inked on Saturday between Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Odisha, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and National Centre for Disease Control, New Delhi.
The objective of this MoU is to set up a unit with laboratory for augmenting disease surveillance, early detection of disease outbreaks, epidemics, control and study, the Health Department informed.
Dy Commissioner, BMC, Special Secy (PH), H&FW dept, Odisha and Director, NCDC, New Delhi signed the MoU in the presence of MD, NHM, DHS, DPH and other senior officials in the conference hall of combined Health Directorate.
Along with the NCDC branch, the Metropolitan Surveillance unit will go a long way in strengthening public health in the State and the region, informed as official.
