Odisha Vigilance Nabs Kunduli LAMPCS Branch-In-Charge for Taking Bribe from Farmer

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Friday nabbed Satyanarayan Challan, branch-in-charge of Kunduli LAMPCS under Semliguda blockin Koraput, for taking bribe from a millet farmer.

Challan demanded a bribe of Rs 45 per bag to procure the 117 bags (50 kg each) of millets from the farmer. Later, he reduced it to Rs 3000.

When Challan refused to accept the millet bags without the bribe, the farmer reported the incident to the Vigilance authorities. Consequently, Challan was caught while accepting the bribe.

The entire tainted bribe money has been recovered and seized from the possession of the accused.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations linked to Challan from the DA angle.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance has registered a case. An investigation is currently underway against the Branch in charge of Kunduli LAMPCS.
