Odisha Vigilance Seizes Ill-gotten Cash of Rs 2.03 Lakh from JE during Interception

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Friday seized ill-gotten cash worth over Rs 2.03 lakh from the possession of Bhimasen Maharana, Junior Engineer, RD Division, Jaraka, Kuakhia Section, Jajpur during the interception.

The JE was intercepted by the Vigilance team on NH-16 near Tangi Toll Gate, Cuttack while he was proceeding from his office to his native place at Bentapurasasan village in Khordha district in his personal car.

During interception, a sum of Rs.2,03,940 was found in his possession. As Maharana could not explain satisfactorily, the amount recovered from him along with his car was seized.

Following the interception, search is being carried out at three locations linked to Maharana from DA angle. He is being examined to ascertain the source of funds, the Vigilance informed.
