Bhubaneswar: A workshop on investigation on Crypto Currency/Digital Assets was inaugurated at State Vigilance Academy here on Friday.
The workshop was inaugurated by Subroto Bagchi, Chairman, Odisha Skill Development Authority as Chief Guest and Y.K. Jethwa, Director Vigilance, as Guest of Honor.
In his inaugural address, the Director Vigilance highlighted that technological advancements were enabling corrupt practices. Hence, it was necessary for people in the enforcement field to upgrade knowledge and competence to deal with the challenge.
Bagchi stated that developments such as Dark Web, Block Chain, Crypto currency, FTX, Hydra, Bitzlato etc. have mounted the challenge for law enforcement personnel, but by knowledge harvesting and applying collective knowledge, the State can defeat the criminal practices.
The workshop includes presentations by experts on Crypto Currency, Non Fungible Tokens(NFT),Digital Assets, tools to detect and investigate the use of virtual currencies, and legal procedures and requirements.
Officers of Vigilance, EOW, CID CB and Dist Police are participating in the workshop.
