Odisha’s Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium Finds Place in Guinness Book of World Records

Rourkela: It’s a proud moment for Odisha as Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium, the largest hockey stadium in the world, has found its place in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Expressing his happiness, the Chief Minister said, “That indeed is thrilling news. I am truly delighted that the Guinness Book of World Records has recognized the Birsa Munda Stadium in Rourkela to be the biggest hockey stadium in the world. I congratulate the people of Odisha and the team that they make it possible”.

In an Instagram post, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian, who played a major role in building of this beautiful stadium in Rourkela, informed that Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium has been certified by the Guinness Book of World Records.

“A proud moment for Odisha. The largest fully seated hockey stadium of the world is the Birsa Munda Hockey stadium in Rourkela. Just certified by the Guinness Book of World Records. Salute the team Odisha and inspiring vision of HCM Naveen Patnaik”, the 5T Secretary wrote on his Instagram post.

With a seating capacity of 20011, Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium has been built in record 15 months.
