Odisha’s Similipal Tiger Reserve to Remain Closed for Visitors from June 12

Baripada: The Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) in Mayurbhanj district will remain closed for visitors from June 12.

The Forest Department has taken the decision in view of the safety of the tourists as the rainy season begins in the state.

In an official notification, STR Field Director Prakash Chandra Goginen stated that the exact date of reopening of the sanctuary will be informed later.

However the ecotourism complex Jamuani, Gurgudia, Kumari, Barehipani and ltamtirtha shall remain open for visitors, the notification said.
