Cuttack: 26th November, 2021 marked the 72nd Anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India. To commemorate the occasion in a special way, the Orissa High Court has unveiled plaques displaying Preamble and Article 39A of The Constitution of India in High Court and other Courts across the State.
The plaque was unveiled in the presence of Justice S. Ravindra Bhat, Judge, Supreme Court of India, Dr. Justice S. Muralidhar, Chief Justice, High Court of Orissa and the Judges of the High Court of Orissa.
Preamble plaques were also unveiled at one go in Odisha State Legal Services Authority, 16 district headquarters Courts and 96 outlying stations across the State. Besides that plaques displaying Article 39A of The Constitution of India were unveiled in 18 District Legal Services Authorities and 106 Taluk Legal Services Committees.
Chief Justice Dr. S. Muralidhar delivered the welcome address and spoke about the sanctity of the Preamble. Quoting Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Justice Muralidhar explained how liberty, equality and fraternity are interwoven and inseparable.
Justice S. Ravindra Bhat attended the function from New Delhi in virtual mode. Speaking on the occasion he said that Constitution is the source and the law of all laws, the foundation of our democracy, the blueprint of governance and sum total of aspirations of our forefathers who sacrificed for the future generations. Justice Bhat affirmed that Constitution must be held in reverence. Extending vote of thanks Justice C.R. Dash urged the members of judiciary to bear constitutional conscience while discharging duties.
The event was attended by the Advocate General, Odisha, President and other Office Bearers of the High Court Bar Association, Member Secretary, Odisha State Legal Services Authority, District Judges and Judicial Officers of the State.
