One Fisherman Dead Another Sustained Bullet Injuries When Boat Allegedly Enters Prohibited Area In Chandipur

Balasore: In an unfortunate incident, a fisherman has died and another sustained bullet injuries when their boat allegedly entered into the no entry zone Testing Range in the sea waters near Chandipur in Balasore district.

According to media reports, the fishing boat with seven fishermen had ventured into the restricted area in the Balarangadi beach for fishing. Around noon, there occurred a big explosion and some bullet like objects hit the fishermen injuring two.

The injured were immediately brought to the Balasore district Hospital where, one of them was declared dead. The deceased has been identified as Kamalakanta Mandal. It is feared that the fishermen were hit by the splinters of an artillery shell fired from the Testing Range.
