Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Transport Department has directed the State Transport Corporation to resume the all women intercity bus service between Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. Started in 2013, the service was popular among the girl students and working women who commuted between the twin cities. But the state run transporter discontinued the service due to unknown reasons. Some commuters filed complaints at the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell for reintroduction of the services.
The Transport Department has requested the OSRTC to immediately restart the service. Transport department Under Secretary, Anil Kumar Parija, has written a letter to OSRTC to take immediate steps to restart the all women bus service.
