OTET Passed Ganasikhyakas to Be Ex-cadre Assistant Teachers; Govt Hikes Remuneration Non-OTET Passed Ganasikhyakas

Bhubaneswar: In a major decision that will benefit more than twelve thousand Ganasikhyakas of the state, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has ordered for promotion of the teachers who have passed OTET to be Ex-cadre Assistant teachers. Likewise, the Chief Minister has ordered hike in the pay of Ganasikhyaks who have not passed OTET from Rs 7,000 to Rs 10,000. The services of Gana Sikhyaks who have cleared OTET will be regularized.

It is worth noting that during the visit of 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman Kartik Pandian to various districts for grievance hearing, the Ganasikhyakas had requested and given proposals for the same. Taking those proposals into consideration, the Chief Minister has taken a decision. According to the decision of the Chief Minister, teachers who have passed OTET will be regularized as Med Teachers (Ex Cadre). More than 1472 teachers of the state will benefit from this.

Similarly, the monthly pay of the Ganasikhyakas who have not passed OTET has been increased from Rs.7000 to Rs.10000 benefiting 1121 teachers of the state. In addition to this, Assistant Teachers (Ex Cadre) who were not getting annual increments despite having OTET passed, will be given annual increments. This will benefit more than 9520 assistant teachers (ex-cadre) of Odisha.
