Over 5 Lakh Devotees Visit Srimandir on New Year, Praise Police and Administration for Ensuring Hassle-free Darshan
Puri: Over five lakh devotees thronged Srimandir to have darshan of the holy Trinity on the first day of the English New Year 2024.
The pilgrim city of Puri had witnessed a sea of devotees from across the country. The devotees had assembled in Puri since late at night to offer their prayers to the deities and see the Parikrama project, which will be inaugurated on the 17th of January with the blessings of Mahaprabhu.
Thanks to the disciplined system of the administration and police, more than 5 lakh devotees have had the pleasant experience of hassle-free darshan of the Lord Jagannath on the first day of the New Year.
For the first time in the New Year, so many devotees arrived at the pilgrim city to have darshan of the Lord, but the devotees did not have to face any difficulties. Devotees enter the temple through air-conditioned tunnels and reception centers and exit the temple through the north gate after darshan of the deities.
Due to special queue arrangement for Divyang, senior citizens and women accompanied by children, they had an unhindered visit to the Lord. All the rituals of Lord Jagannath were also conducted before the scheduled time.
Meanwhile, the initiatives of IGP (Central Range) Ashish Kumar Singh, Puri Collector Samarth Verma, SP Kanwar Vishal Singh and temple administration officials have been highly appreciated in various quarters.
Devotees from outside the state have lauded the steps taken by the State Government and administration for ensuring hassle-free darshan.
Earlier, on the direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, 5T & Nabin Odisha Chairman Kartik Pandian had reviewed the crowd management system of Srimandir in view of the New Year. He gave his necessary suggestions for the crowd management on New Year.
