Over 70 Per cent People in Ganjam Have COVID Antibodies: Sero-Survey

Bhubaneswar: Over 70 per cent people in Odisha’s Ganjam district have developed antibodies against Covid-19, according to the the fourth round of nationwide sero-survey.

The survey conducted between June 16 and 20 shows that overall 65.12% of the general population and 85.83 percent of health care workers (HCWs) in Odisha have developed antibodies against the virus.
Ganjam district has the highest sero-prevalence of 70.9 % in the State, followed by Rayagada and Koraput districts 63 % and 61.3 % sero-prevelance respectively.

The fourth round of the nationwide survey was conducted in three Odisha districts – Rayagada, Ganjam, and Koraput in the third week of June this year. Samples of 1230 general population and 311 HCWs had been collected for the study.
