Padampur By-Poll: BJD Demands Arrest of BJP Worker Rinku Meher

Bhubaneswar: Ruling Biju Janata Dal today demanded arrest of BJP worker Rinku Meher and other BJP workers who allegedly assaulting a BJD worker in Padampur Assembly constituency in Bargarh district.

A BJD delegation met the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) at his office and demanded arrest of Rink Meher and other BJP workers who murderously attacked and grievously injured a BJD worker Sanju Bariha at Bubuda Village, Dahigaon GP, Padampur Block yesterday leading to his serious head injury.

Due to his serious condition, Bariha has been shifted to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences And Research (VIMSAR), Burla, the BJD delegation informed the CEO.

“During 2018 Bijepur by-poll in Bargarh district, it is well known that two BJP leaders had murderously attacked BJD MLA Susant Singh’s brother and these two BP leaders are now star campaigners of the BJP in Padampur by-poll. They were in jail for this crime and now out on bail and campaigning for BJP. This shows that the BJP leaders and workers are habitual offenders in heinous crimes using poll violence to cover-up for their upcoming electoral loss”, the BJD alleged.

The BJD also demanded more security and protection for the party workers and citizens of Padampur.
