Koraput: The Panchayat elections will be held in all 13 wards in Kotia in Koraput district.
This has been informed by Koraput Collector Abdaal M. Akhtar.
He said that the elaborate security arrangements will be made for the smooth conduct of the elections. Strong action will be taken for creating any disturbance in the election process.
He further said that Naxal activities have been declined significantly in the last five years in the district. Hence, the most sensitive booths will be considered as normal booths in the ensuing elections, he added.
The Panchayat polls will be held in five phases on February 16, 18, 20, 22, and 24. The counting of votes and declaration of results will be done on February 26, 27, and 28.
