Bhubaneswar: In a major breakthrough, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Odisha Crime Branch today arrested one person from Jadupur village in Nayagarh district in connection with murder of a minor girl, Pari.
The person has been arrested under various sections of POCSO Act, the Crime Branch said.
He will be forwarded to the court of Special Court-cum-ADJ (POCSO Court), Nayagarh tomorrow, it said while adding that further investigation is on.
Earlier, the SIT apprised the Orissa High Court that the five-year-old girl whose skeletal remains were recovered near her house in Jadupur village of Nayagarh on July 23 was sexually assaulted before being murdered.
