Bhubaneswar: Patnagarh MLA Saroj Meher, who was arrested for allegedly forcing a PWD engineer to do sit-ups over poor construction of road, was granted conditional bail here today.
The Bhubaneswar Special ADJ-II Court granted bail to the MLA on the surety of Rs 25,000 and two bailers.
The court also asked the legislator to cooperate with the probe.
Meher was arrested by Patnagarh police on June 24.
The police had registered a case under Sections 341, 363, 294, 323, 353 and 355 of IPC and Section 3 of SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
