Bhubaneswar: People should not expect to get free electricity and they should learn to conserve energy, said Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo on Wednesday.
Replying to a question in the Assembly, the Deputy Chief Minister said that people need to pay for electricity consumed. Services cannot be provided free, he added.
“Learn to conserve energy, do not expect free electricity,” he said.
No one should keep hopes of free services; instead, everyone should be educated. Steps are also being taken to educate the consumers through video messages, KV Singh Deo further said.
The Minister, however, reiterated that the promise of 300 units of free electricity will be provided under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
