Bhubaneswar: Hours after a fire mishap at a petrol pump here in city, the Commissionerate Police today launched an investigation into the incident after registering a criminal case suo motu.
Speaking to media, Twin City Police Commissioner Sudhansu Sarangi said the blast in a LPG tank at the petrol pump near Raj Bhavan caused severe damage and fire broke out thereafter.
At least eight people have been injured in the incident.
The intensity of the explosion was so high that the area was jolted for few minutes.
Meanwhile, Sarangi has advised to remain cautious till the LPG tank and fuel tanks at the petrol pump are emptied.
