Bhubaneswar: The first day of the annual Higher Secondary examination in the state today concluded without any incidents.
The exams conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education Odisha started today in 1143 exam centers. In total about 3 lakh 50 thousand Eight Hundred students from 1628 colleges of the state are appearing in the exams. While today the science stream examination commenced, Arts, Commerce and Vocational exams will begin from tomorrow.
Tight security arrangements have been made by the Council for smooth functioning for the exams. For the first time all the exam centers have been kept under watch through CCTV cameras. Surprise checking by special squads were also carried out to check malpractice.
Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Das, who visited a few exam centers, said today’s exams have been held without any incidents. He said, the authorities are trying to bring out the results of all the four streams at one go.
