Puri: Policemen, home guards, OSAP jawans, Jagannath Temple Police and other police personnel have been barred from taking mobile phones into the Srimandir in Puri.
This has been informed by Puri SP Kanwar Vishal Singh.
The SP said that the administration has decided to implement the rule after several pictures of the sanctum sanctorum went viral repeatedly.
He further said that the police personnel on special or emergency duty are allowed to use mobile phones.
Notably, the sevayats have already been barred from carrying mobile phones inside the premises of Srimandir.
