Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has cancelled the leave of agriculture officials of five districts from December 2 to 6 in view of possible heavy rain due to impending cyclonic storm.
“In view of possible heavy rain due to impending cyclonic storm, by order of the Principal Secretary, leave of all field officials of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati and Ganjam is cancelled from Dec. 2 to 6. They shall be on duty on Sunday and be on high alert throughout”, the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Empowerment said.
The Department wrote to the Chief District Agriculture Officer and Deputy Director of Horticulture of all five districts in this regard.
Principal Secretary of the Department Dr. Arabinda Padhee also instructed officers to constantly assess crop situation in the State in view of rain due to impending cyclone.
