Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s E-Abakari initiative has won the prestigious Gold Medal for the Digital Initiatives for Ease of Doing Business Category at the Digital Business Awards. The Award will be presented by the President of India Droupadi Murmu today at the Bigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. The award will be received by Odisha Excise Commissioner Ashish Singh and former Principal Secretary Sushil Kumar Lohani. Along with them, Nihar Ranjan Biswal, Sr. Director, NIC Bhubaneswar, Biplav Pradhan, Additional Secretary, Excise Department and Ram Chandra Palta, Additional Commissioner ll, will be there as representatives from the State Government to attend the function.
The award recognizes the establishments that have created significant impact by reducing the time, costs and efforts in setting up, conducting and operating business activities. The Odisha Excise Department has been in the forefront in adopting new technology under the 5T Initiatives to strengthen its excise initiatives. The awards aim to inspire and motivate not only government entities but also start-ups and grassroots-level digital initiatives in fulfilling the Digital India vision. The entire Odisha Excise Department has been reformed and use of digital online platform has given it a new dimension.
