Private Bus Owners Association Withdraws Proposed Strike

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Private Bus Owners Association has withdrawn from the proposed strike. With this running of busses in the state has become normal.

Speaking to media, Debenndra Sahu, Secretary of Private Bus Owners Association has said that the association has withdrawn its strike call given yesterday and the bus services have remained normal in all routes from morning today.

The Government of Odisha had yesterday discussed the matter with the representatives of the Driver Mahasangha and assured them that the demands will be fulfilled in three months. Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena After knowing this, the bus service is normal today.

It is to be noted here that, lakhs of drives from across the state went on a strike for fulfilling of their twenty point demands. The strike had an impact on the movement of people and goods across the state. In some places, the members of the drivers association went unruly and harassed many drivers who had not participated in the strike and stopped movement of inter-state movement of truct causing much problem for them. In some places, bus drivers were also harassed as there was no security provided to them.

The Private Bus Owners association had called for clearance of the National and State highways to so that they can run busses.
