Puri: The preparations are in full swing in Puri for Bahuda Yatra of Lord Jagannath and His divine siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra on Tuesday.
The trinity will return to their permanent abode, Srimandir after the 9-day sojourn.
The district administration, Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) , senior police officials and other local authorities are giving final touch to the preparations.
Additional Director General (Law and Order), R.K. Sharma on Sunday reviewed the police preparedness for the smooth conduct of Bahuda Yatra and Suna Besha rituals of Lord Jagannath. IGP CR and SP Puri attended the review meeting along with other police officers.
The Puri administration has imposed shutdown with curfew in Puri town from 8 PM of 19th July to 8 PM of 21st July.
No vehicle movement will be allowed in the entire Grand Road other than the authorized vehicles carrying essential services/medical services during the period.
All hotels, lodgings, dharmasalas and guest houses on Grand Road are being closed. All shops and commercial establishments, including medicine shops will not be allowed to open during the period. All entry points of the district will be sealed in order to restrict movement of people from other districts to the pilgrim city.
Like Ratha Jatra, no one will be allowed to witness the return journey of Holy Trinity from the rooftops, informed Puri Collector Samarth Verma.
The police have setup 20 special squads to enforce the shutdown and curfew.
