Devotees Experience Heavenly Feelings in New Year

Puri: Lakhs of tourists thronged the pilgrimage  town here to welcome the new year. 

Every hour the tourist footfall was increasing as thousands of vehicles were making a beeline to enter into the city while others came by regular and special trains.

The small town was almost full with the visitors as most of the revellers wants to have the glimpses  of holy trinity and grand show with flowers at Badadanda or Grand Road.

As part of the transformation of Puri and to give a new experiences to the tourists this year, district collector Balwant Singh leading from the front came up with out of box arrangements that includes  extravagant lighting arrangements, magnificent decorations, soul soothing ambiance and spiritually energising spaciousness etc for the convenience of all.

The naration of a sixty year old lady about her experience of new year was in deed hear touching.

“Every year I go to Puri to celebrate new year, but the environment in badadanda near the temple was special this year which I have never seen earlier. It was just heavenly feeling and spiritual environment was all over. Thanks to the district administration and of course the Naveen Patnaik Government for this facelift and arrangement, said Lalita Panda, a 65 years old lady who resides in Bhubanrswar.”

Expressing similar devotional feeling, Santilata Sahu, a 60 years old lady who came all the way from Dhenkanal said, “It was really heavenly feelings, I had never seen or felt this type of spirituL ambience surrounding the temple.It was really amazing and I can’t forget the feelings of this new year, she added.”

District administration also made announcements over public adressal systems 24×7 lost and found people.

Over 1000 such announcements were made and over 200 people approached for help and were reunited by the officials of District Information and Public Relation Department.

The volunteers of District administration were also seen helping elderly people to have darshan of trinity and to have glimpses of badadanda arrangements.

The police had a tough time to regulate the visitor traffic while they were on toes.

The tourists on the beach were enjoying camel and sea rides on sea bikes and boats and bathing on the sea. The administration placed hundreds of life guards along the beach line to help the visitors enjoy sea surfing.
